Setting Hounslow’s Council Tax for 2022/23
Hounslow Council has now set its budget and the borough’s Council Tax for 2022/23.
Through its budget the Council wants to ensure that it can deliver its ambitious post-pandemic recovery plan, safeguard vital services and continue to make the borough fairer, safer and greener.
The budget, was voted on by councillors at a Borough Council meeting on Tuesday, 1 March. Councillors also accepted a recommendation to put up Council Tax by 2.99% which includes a 1% precept to help cover rising demand and costs in adult social care.
The increase is significantly below the current rate of inflation, which the Bank of England has warned could reach 7% in Spring 2022.
The rise will be around 70p* a week for the average household, the equivalent of the cost of a couple of pints of milk.
