Main town centres in the borough
The Hounslow: Prosperity and Place document, which sets out the Council’s approach and framework for the regeneration and economic growth of the borough was approved by Hounslow Cabinet on 11 January 2022.
The document sets out the council’s approach and ambitions for building on the borough’s strong pre-covid economic baseline, through actions to:
- Retain Hounslow’s economic activity – actions to arrest decline and help to retain business activity, especially small businesses.
- Reimage Hounslow’s future economy – our places and future economy and the role of innovation, technology, and creativity.
- Reskill and reemploy Hounslow’s residents – enabling them to access skills and employment support and training, and good jobs.
- Regenerate Hounslow – providing planning and development frameworks that guide the right development to the right locations, and that unlock good growth.
The Feltham, Hounslow, Brentford and Chiswick Town Centre Vision Documents set out the council’s approach to the regeneration and economic growth of the town centres. They also set out an overall framework for future collaborative action. Each town centre has a unique vision, developed with the communities, and a future regeneration agenda, underpinned by economic recovery strategies. Each town centre also has a bespoke set of potential proposals to attract investment and funding to make the plans happen in partnership. Implementation will be set within the wider Hounslow: Prosperity and Place programme resources.
