Street lighting
Our partners, Hounslow Highways are responsible for maintaining street lights on public land.
Report a street light that is not working to Hounslow Highways
The services offered on council maintained roads:
- addition or removal of street lights
- maintenance of lamp columns
- bollards
- centre island lamp columns
- flashing beacons at zebra crossings
- school flashing lights and
- illuminated sign lights.

If you live on an housing estate and notice a street lighting repair on the estate, please email the housing customer services team
Alternatively you can contact the relevant estate manager.
Please note: for privately maintained roads, you will need to contact the contractors, landlord or appropriate housing association.
There are eight set night patrol routes. In the summer there is one night patrol every week, (of a certain area of the borough). During the winter months, there are three patrols every two weeks in different areas of the borough.
Repair times
Once reported, it usually take three working days to fix the light. Defective lamp column in an alleyway - 48hr response (not including weekends).
Vandalised column (inspection cover off, lantern damaged) - Attended within the hour and rectified then as long as there is not a cable fault or cut-out damage in the column.
