Medequip is the community equipment service for Hounslow, who supply, deliver, collect, service and install equipment prescribed by Hounslow health and social care workers. Examples of equipment include:
• chairs
• commodes
• adjustable beds
• mattresses
• shower chairs/stools
• pressure Cushions
• toilet frames
• bath seats/lifts
• hoists and slingsHow to receive an aid
Health professionals (physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other health and social care workers) can prescribe equipment such as walking aids, safety rails and hospital beds if you are assessed as needing them.
If you feel you need a piece of equipment but do not currently have it, you can contact your local GP who will make a referral for an assessment.
How is it delivered and installed?
Equipment is delivered to your home by Medequip and will be installed by the delivering technician if required.
How to return equipment
If you have already benefited from equipment loaned to you that you no longer need, Medequip can arrange a free collection, to recycle and help others in need. To find out more visit returning equipment or contact Medequip on 020 8750 1580 or email customerservicesheathrow@medequip-uk.com.

If you have any electrical equipment you can be placed on the Priority Services Register to ensure your equipment is up and running as soon as possible in the event of a power cut. Scottish & Southern Elecricity run the service in Hounslow. Find out more about the Priority Service List here.
