You can book a guest room at a sheltered housing scheme as a friend or relative of a resident.

You need to check availability and pricing with the scheme manager. You can then pay for the booking online.

You should also familiarise yourself with the guest room rules and regulations.

Rules and regulations

1. The room is intended for brief stays, not long-term occupation.

2. The guest room is available to all residents. Each resident has a maximum booking limit of one booking per quarter.

3. A guest can occupy the guest room for up to two weeks in any booking and must not re-book within two months of the original booking.

4. The room will be let on a first come, first served basis, unless there are exceptional circumstances. In such cases, the scheme manager will have discretion.

5. The length of stay will be agreed with the scheme manager and payment made in advance via an online payment system.

6. Extensions to the duration of stay may be possible if the overall let is for no longer than two weeks (unless exceptional circumstances apply). This must first be agreed with the scheme manager and payment made in advance.

7. The tenant(s) must be residing in their principal home at the time of booking.

8. The room is for use by the guest only. No-one else may stay in the room overnight, except by prior arrangement with the scheme manager.

9. The guest room may not be used for inappropriate activities, for example in connection with running a business.

10. The guest must abide by the scheme’s no smoking policy.

11. Furniture provided in the room must not be removed or rearranged.

12. The guest must have consideration for tenants and other visitors at all times and not cause nuisance or disturbance.

13. The guest must adequately supervise and control any visiting children in their care.

14. The guest is responsible for keeping the room clean and tidy during their stay.

15. The guest must leave communal areas (for example, bathrooms, kitchen, laundry room) clean and tidy after use. Please note that tenants take priority for the use of all communal facilities.

16. Access must be given for any emergency repairs.

17. Any damage caused may be recharged to the guest or the tenant.

18. Management reserve the right to refuse booking at their discretion.

19. All bookings made via the online system are final and refunds will not be provided.

Failure to follow these rules and regulations may result in guests being:

  • asked to leave early without refund
  • having future use restricted
