Modern slavery is a term used when somebody is forced or coerced to do something and another person benefits. Modern slavery is a growing problem globally and can take many forms including human trafficking and the exploitation of other people.
Some of the common ways people are exploited are:
- Forced labour
- Sexual exploitation
- Domestic servitude
- Criminal exploitation
- Trafficking.
Although slavery is illegal everywhere, it still happens all over the world. It can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.
