Afghan Resettlement Schemes
The Afghan Citizens' Resettlement Scheme (ACRS), and Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) are the resettlement schemes supporting those from Afghanistan seeking refuge.
The ARAP which launched in April 2021 offers relocation or other assistance to former Locally Employed Staff (LES). The Afghan Citizens' Resettlement Scheme (ACRS), launched in January 2022, supports those who have assisted the UK efforts in Afghanistan and stood up for values such as democracy, women’s rights, freedom of speech, and rule of law.
This scheme also supports vulnerable people, including women and girls at risk, and members of minority groups at risk (including ethnic and religious minorities and LGBT+).
Finally, asylum claims can also be made by Afghans on student visas who are already in the UK.
