Hounslow Air Quality Action Plan 2018 - 2023
An Air Quality Management Area (AQMA) was declared for the whole Borough in 2002, and then revised in 2006, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act (1995). As part of this, the Council is required to put in place an Air Quality Action Plan (AQAP) and report annual progress to the Greater London Authority. All AQAPs and annual reports can be found on our air quality documents page.
The current Air Quality Action Plan was approved by Cabinet in September 2018 and aims to report on the current status of air pollution in Hounslow and outline the actions the Council will take to improve air quality in the London Borough of Hounslow between 2018 and 2023.
Actions outlined within the AQAP fall under seven broad topics including:
- Emissions from developments and buildings
- Public health and awareness raising
- Delivery servicing and freight
- Borough fleet actions
- Localised solutions
- Cleaner transport
- Lobbying and Partnership working
Please see the AQAP 2018 - 2023 for more information on the actions outlined to improve the Borough's air quality.
