Background
We all love clean streets, parks and green spaces and want to live in a clutter-free environment we can feel proud of. Hounslow Council is committed to achieving a borough that is clean, attractive, and a place where people want to visit, enjoy and can call home. This is being realised in our Cleaner Greener Hounslow project.
Hounslow Council and our partners including Hounslow Highways and Lampton 360 work tirelessly to keep the borough clean and clear of waste, our communities help us achieve this also by disposing of waste responsibly, recycling, participating in community clean ups and championing their areas.
Unfortunately, there are some individuals that persist in dumping litter and waste - we want that to change. We are committed to tackling this issue, but we will need the help of residents to crack down on those who continue to have no regard for our street environment – and the law.
Part of our approach to tackle fly tipping and littering in Hounslow is to utilise CCTV cameras especially in areas where fly tipping is prevalent. This footage aids enforcement by gathering evidence to enforce littering and fly tipping legislation, but there are occasions when we require the public’s help to identify culprits.
