Harlech Gardens Grows: Community Fun Day
Join us for a day of free activities and share your thoughts on how to transform this underused green space into a vibrant area for outdoor activities.
Where: Harlech Gardens Estate, Communal Garden, Block Entrance 104-135, TW5 9PT, Opposite the playground
When: 12pm-4pm on Saturday 13th July
‘Have Your Say’: the Council are working with the community on Harlech Gardens to transform an underutilised green space at the back of the estate into a communal area where residents can participate in outdoor activities and learn how to grow their own food. As part of the event, residents will have the opportunity to shape the design and give their ideas for activities/facilities in the new communal garden area.
Event highlights and activities:
- PlayStreet – series of games and multi-sport activities for children and young people. Access to the street leading to flats 104-135 will be temporarily closed to vehicles to allow children and residents to play safely during the event.
- Nature based arts and crafts activities – seed bomb making, rock painting, leaf crowns (led by Creative Spaces London).
- Free food and drink (mixture of vegetarian, vegan and halal options)
- Face painting
- Ice cream van
- Health Outreach Van – discuss health concerns/free health checks:
- Stalls from Council services – speak to officers in the Council’s Housing and Safer Communities Teams.
FREE Sewing Club at Heston Farm
Come along to a FREE Sewing Club at Heston Farm Community Hall (TW5 0UZ).
Drop-in, no sign up required. Please note, there are limits on numbers. Sessions are first come first serve. Maximum 8 people for weekday sessions and maximum 6 people for weekend sessions.

Free Adult Group Cycle Training
Build confidence to cycle as a group with our group cycle training sessions. Our qualified instructors will show you how to cycle as a group in a park and Hounslow's quiet roads. Training is suitable for beginners, as well as regular cyclists looking to brush up on advanced skills, cycle as a group and meet like-minded people.
This is a free activity on a first come first serve basis. Our instructors will register you on arrival.
Don’t be late, spaces are limited!
Every Tuesday at Heston Park
- 9.15am - 10.15am: Beginners group – build your confidence off-road.
- 10.30am - 11.30am: Intermediate (improvers) group – build your confidence off & on-road!
Free Bike Maintenance courses
- When: 2nd Saturday of every month
- Time: 3:30 to 5:30pm
- Where: Heston Royal British Legion
Come join our new bike maintenance sessions. Within these sessions, you will learn the essentials to independently repair your bike.
Sessions will be very hands-on, and you will be carrying out the work yourself on a demonstrator bike, within a small group. Tools and gloves will be provided.
*13-17-year-olds are welcome , as long as they are with an adult aged 18+ who will be present for the entirety of the two hour session.
Only available for those who live, work or study in Hounslow. Pre-Registration Required.

Dr Bike - Free cycle repairs
Cycle Instructor mechanics will be able to check everything on your bike from wheels, brakes, gears to racks, pedals and saddles. All mechanics have a wealth of cycling knowledge and will fix any minor adjustments necessary. For any major adjustments they cannot fix, they will advise riders what needs to be done. There is no need to book, just turn up in good time and queue.

Repair Café
Heston Repair Café is where you can:
- save money by learning how to do minor repairs to your own clothing, bikes & scooters, small electrical appliances and laptops/PCs & Games Consoles.
- get your children to have fun while learning how to fix small gadgets or create some crafts
- donate unwanted clothing (for people in need or for recycling) and small electronics.
As a community, we are always looking to welcome new helpers who have repairing, ad-hoc and/or engagement skills. If you have some free time & would like to join us, please email: hestonrepaircafe@gmail.com
Heston Repair Café is FREE for all users. Coffees, teas and refreshments will be available in the café area.
FREE Gardening and Horticulture Sessions
We invite you to actively engage in FREE gardening and horticultural sessions at Heston Community Garden where you can:
- access and connect to green spaces, learn new skills and meet new people.
- learn about the benefits of reduction, repair, reuse, and recycling within food growing and the importance of a healthy and balanced ecosystem.
- Harvest fresh and locally grown food.
Activities will depend on the weather but usual gardening tasks include: hedge and tree maintenance, planting and preparing for planting, weeding, seedling, composting and so on.
When: Every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month, from 10am to 12pm.
When: Every Sunday, from 10am to 1pm.
Venue: Heston Community Garden, at Sutton Playing Field (Nearest entrance through alleyway between 35 and 37 The Crossways, Heston, TW5 0JJ)
