If payments are not paid by the instalment date the council will send you a reminder letter or text message.

First reminder notice

This first reminder will give you 7 days to bring your payments up to date. If you not bring your payments up to date, you will lose your right to pay by instalment and the Council can demand full payment of all the Council Tax remaining for the year.

If you have not brought your payments up to date then the Council will issue a summons via the Magistrates' Court where additional costs will be incurred and added to the amount you have to pay.

After receiving the first reminder, if you bring your payments up to date, no further action will be taken.

Second reminder notice

If you fail to keep up your payments which are due on the 1st of every month, you will be issued with a second reminder. If you pay by Direct Debit, your payment date may be different. This will give you 7 days to bring your payments up to date.

If you not bring your payments back up to date, you will lose your right to pay by instalment and the Council can demand full payment of all the Council Tax remaining for the year.

If you do not brought your payments up to date then the Council will issue a summons via the Magistrates' Court where additional costs will be incurred and added to the amount you have to pay.

After receiving the second reminder, if you bring your payments up to date, no further action will be taken.
