What we do
YSEG Careers Cluster builds on the successes of the 2020-23 programme Expanding Horizons, Raising Aspirations, funded by the European Social Fund and Greater London Authority.
As part of the 2020-23 project, we arranged 539 work placements with a further 1357 students and 142 teachers learning about the world of work through activities co-designed and delivered with employers.
Our ambitions
Our focus is on building longer term links with business sectors that are expected to have future recruitment needs, either linked to predicted growth or to labour shortages.
At least 50% of participating students will be from disadvantaged groups and deemed at risk of ending up without a positive destination post 16.
The project also seeks to engage teachers and parents to better understand the West London labour market, recognising the important role that influential adults play in the decisions by young people about their future direction.
Schools and employers will be kept updated through a termly newsletter highlighting the programme's achievements.
