School appeals

If your child has not been offered a place at one of the schools you applied for, you have the right of appeal to an independent appeal panel.
You can only make one appeal per school, in a single academic year, unless there are changed circumstances.
There is no appeal for nursery, as this is not statutory education.

How to appeal

1. Read the guidance on making an appeal.

2. Complete an appeals form. See below.

Secondary Transfer in September 2025  (available from 3 March)  for The Heathland School ONLY.

For all other schools, contact the school directly.

Starting Reception class in September 2025 - (available from 16 April) for Hounslow Community Primary schools ONLY.

For all other schools, contact the school directly.

Junior Transfer in September 2025 - (available from 16 April) for Hounslow Community Junior schools ONLY.

In Year Admissions

For all Hounslow Community Primary and Secondary schools ONLY.  For all other schools, contact the school directly.

Deadline for appeals

  • Secondary Transfer 2025 appeals – 1 April 2025
  • Starting Reception class and Junior Transfer 2025 appeals - 21 May 2025
  • In-Year appeals – on going.

Appealing after the deadline

If you appeal after the deadline, your appeal will still be scheduled, but it may be heard later than those who returned their appeal forms on time.
