All Hounslow infant and primary schools (except Edison Primary, Reach Academy Hanworth Park and Nishkam School West London) have nursery classes.
Children can take up a free 15-hour place in these school nurseries in the September after their third birthday.
Working families who meet certain eligibility criteria can also claim an additional 15 hours of free education and childcare a week - 30 hours in total. You can check your eligibility
Applications to start nursery in September 2025 will open from 1 January 2025. Information will be updated in January.
Current Nursery
If your child was born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 and you want them to go to nursery now you must apply directly to the school to see if they still have any places.

You can apply to more than one school but must send each school an individual application form. Your application form must be received by the school by 8 March 2024.

Some schools will be holding open days for parents to visit the nursery. A list of open days can be viewed here
Any queries regarding open days should be referred to the school directly.
Education in a school nursery is not compulsory and it may not be possible for every child to secure a place in a school nursery. If your child already has a place at a private day nursery or playgroup, you may prefer to keep them there until they start reception in the following September.
All 3 and 4 year olds are entitled to up to 15 hours of early education each week for 38 weeks of the year.
