The council has prepared a new Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), which was adopted by the planning committee in June 2013. The statement was amended in August 2020 to take account of the Section 78 Local authority meetings and Schedule 22 Powers to issue directions relating to events, gatherings and premises of the Coronavirus Act 2020 as well as the MHCLG’s periodic updates on planning matters in response to the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19). It was approved by Full Council on the 10 November 2020
The SCI sets out how we will engage with the community when it makes planning decisions. Put simply, it explains how local residents and other stakeholders will be engaged as we prepare planning policies and determine planning applications.
