Weekend noise team
If you are affected by unreasonable noise on a Friday or Saturday night, we can help.
This service is available on:
- Friday night from 10pm to 2am
- Saturday night from 10pm to 2am.
If you have a problem during those hours, please call 020 8583 2222.
You will need to provide:
- your name
- address
- telephone number
- details of where the noise is coming from.
What happens next
The details you give will be passed on to the Noise Team who will already be out on the road dealing with other noise complaints. We will call you when possible to discuss your problem. We will ask you if you know the people concerned and whether in your opinion they may be dangerous (if so, we may request police assistance before approaching them).
We will also want to know if this is a one-off event or whether you have an ongoing problem with your neighbours. Remember, we have to consider our own safety before tackling a situation and therefore need your co-operation.
In order to assess whether the noise you are experiencing is a statutory nuisance we will need to come into your home to hear it there. Once we have assessed the problem we will then approach the offending neighbour and, if practicable, serve an abatement notice.
Please remember that we are normally very busy and often there are a number of complaints to be dealt with before yours. It may take some time to call and to visit you.
If you have an issue with a house or car alarm it may be a few hours before we can deal with your call.
