About Mayor Karen Smith
Mayor Smith was first elected to the Hounslow South ward in 2018.
She has lived in Hounslow all her life and attended Hounslow Heath and Heathlands Schools, followed by West Thames College (Hounslow Borough College at the time).
Before joining the Council Mayor Smith worked for the Metropolitan Police in both Hounslow and Chiswick Police Stations.
Since joining the Council she has served on the Licensing Committee and on the Scrutiny Panels for children and young people and health and social care. She has also vice-chaired area forums.
Over the years she has also volunteered with various charities, including Beanstalk and a local food bank.
She currently works at Artsed drama school in Chiswick.
