You must give us notice before carrying out a demolition.

Demolition notice

You must not start work to demolish a building until either you receive notice from the council or six weeks have elapsed. This is a requirement of the Building Act 1984 (legislation.gov.uk).

You do not need to give notice when demolishing a building smaller than 1,750 cubic feet in volume.
