Parking Permits: Frequently Asked Questions

I’m moving to Hounslow and I’d like to know if the property is in a Controlled Parking Zone and if I will be eligible for a permit?

Important update: Virtual Permits and Emission Based Charges from Friday 28 February 2025

From the 28 February 2025, all new resident parking permits will be issued as virtual. Existing paper permits are still valid until they expire. Virtual permits are linked to your vehicle registration and checked digitally by enforcement officers.

Find out more

Visit our Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) webpage for information about CPZs, address eligibility and how to apply for a permit.

You must be aged 17 or over to apply, and the vehicle must be less than 5.25m long and 2.27m tall. Permits issued to vehicles over that size are invalid and will not prevent you from being issued with a PCN.

Important Update: From the 28 February 2025, we will be converting some of our parking permits from paper to virtual. At this stage this will be for resident and business parking permits.

Existing paper permits are still valid until they expire.
