Removing a joint tenant

If you hold a joint tenancy with us and want to change this to a sole tenancy you must seek legal advice and apply for a Property Adjustment Order. Once an order is provided a new tenancy agreement is not required as the tenancy is assigned to the remaining tenant.

The change from joint tenants to a sole tenant does not count as a statutory succession and any existing succession rights are not affected. We advise you to seek legal advise to apply for a Property Adjustment Order.

Your local CAB office should be to be able to support you with this process.
