This page provides information about recycling and rubbish collections from blocks of flats in Hounslow.

There is different guidance if you live in a flat above a shop.

There is a communal bin store for your housing block. You should put your rubbish and recycling in the correct bin, which is marked clearly.

There are bins for:

  • plastic
  • cardboard
  • paper
  • glass
  • tins, cans and aerosols
  • food
  • things you can't recycle

If you're not sure what to put where, you can use our Waste Wizard to look up specific items and see how you can recycle them.

There are also materials we don't collect but that you can recycle in a different way

You can also find out about getting rid of large items.

Collections from flats above shops

We collect rubbish from flats above shops twice a week.

Everything should go in purple sacks that we provide. If you use any other kind of bag, this is treated as flytipping.

On Mondays and Thursdays we collect from:

  • Central Hounslow, up to and including Lampton Road
  • Chiswick
  • Brentford
  • Isleworth
  • Hounslow East

On Tuesdays and Fridays we collect from:

  • Central Hounslow west of Lampton Road
  • Bedfont
  • Cranford
  • Feltham
  • Hanworth
  • Heston
  • Hounslow West
