We collect used coffee pods from your home in partnership with Podback.
We colllect pods on your scheduled recycling day. This is a free service.
How it works:
- Sign up with Podback and get a supply of free recycling bags.
- Fill a bag with used pods.
- Put the bag or bags out for collection with your other recycling and we'll collect it.
If you live in a flat or do not have normal recycling collections from your home, you can use Podback's drop-off service instead.
When you run out of bags you can request more from Podback.
Missed collections
We will collect all Podback recycling bags that are:
- clearly visible
- securely tied
- not split or overflowing
We may have had to leave bags as they contained the wrong materials. Bags must only contain coffee pods and should not contain liquids or packaging.
If your pods have not been collected, you should take them back inside your home and put them out again on your next scheduled collection.

What happens to used recycling pods
The coffee pods you recycle with Podback are taken to specialist aluminium and plastics reprocessing plants in the UK.
The coffee grounds are removed and the plastic and aluminium are then transformed into new products. These include beverage cans, car components, plastic garden furniture and building products.
The coffee grounds are used to create renewable energy (biogas) and soil improver.
