Dukes Meadows public consultation - 27 November 2017
As part of a multi-million pound project to protect Dukes Meadows for future generations, Hounslow Council is launching a public consultation on proposals to improve the popular park.
Following the Council’s public exhibition in November 2016, we wanted to update you on how the proposals have evolved in response to your feedback and to inform you of the proposals we are aiming to submit as part of a planning application in the coming months.
We have been engaging with stakeholders of the site over the last year to agree a mix of facilities and wider proposals for Dukes Meadows across public realm, sport, transport and access.
The proposals
Working alongside resident and stakeholders, the Council is proposing a number of landscape improvements as well as a new site plan for sport and recreation facilities and traffic management. The aim is to deliver new facilities and features for the benefit of the visitors and users who enjoy Dukes Meadows throughout the year, as well as attracting new users.
Based on the results gathered from the consultations, a masterplan for Dukes Meadows has been drawn up.
The main areas of proposed public realm improvements include:
- Chiswick Bridge and Riverside
- Drive entrances
- The entirety of the Thames Path throughout the site
- Dan Mason Drive improvements
- Bandstand area and promenade
- Pedestrian experience around the site
The sporting facility improvements at Dukes Meadows include;
- New Rugby Artificial Grass
- Pitch and extension to the rugby pavilion for both rugby and hockey
- Refurbished Hockey Pitch
- Redeveloped Chiswick Boathouse
- New Football Pavilion and two 3G Artificial Grass Pitches for football
- Grass pitch improvements and upgrading for football and rugby

Drop-in-session
Members of the public are invited to attend a consultation event on Tuesday 31 October between 10am and 8.30pm.

During the event, all of the proposals will be on display and members of the project team will be on hand to answer questions.
