Alzheimer’s Society’ Dementia Cafes

Come along and join Emily for a cup of tea at one of the local Dementia cafés. This is a free service, fully accessible and open to everyone affected by dementia. Your local Dementia café provides a safe and supportive place for you to discuss your own or a loved one’s dementia diagnosis. Come and meet other people in similar situations, keep active, make new friends, and feel more confident. We also provide guest speakers and activities such as arts and crafts, singing or chair yoga. We aim to make every café a unique experience. We can’t wait for you to join us.

Worrying is a normal process, but sometimes it can become excessive or feel overwhelming. This workshop is based on the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where we aim to help you identify the role of ‘thoughts’ and ‘behaviors’ in maintaining distress and uncomfortable feelings and how we can use specific skills, including relaxation techniques, to improve our management of worry and how feel.

Cancer touches countless lives, whether it’s the person battling the disease or their relatives standing by their side. This is a nurturing support service which provides support and information for those that are affected by cancer. First Aid Training Workshop

Join Kevin for a first aid training workshop, offering you the chance to acquire life-saving skills. This workshop not only teaches essential life-saving techniques but also provides the practical knowledge required to assist in medical emergencies. While the course covers key topics, it's important to note that it cannot prepare you for every possible situation. If you suspect a serious illness or injury, always seek medical advice. Each week, a different topic will be covered. Topics include:

First Aid Kits & Primary Survey (DRABC) Dealing with an unconscious person & unconscious child or baby (Recovery Position), Choking & Strokes

CPR and using a Defibrillator
