General Cemetery Regulations for Visitors

All visitors are required to respect the function of a Cemetery and conduct themselves in a decent, quiet and orderly manner, and observe the following:

  • In the interest of safety, a child under 13 years of age is only allowed into the cemeteries grounds when accompanied by and under the care of a responsible adult. Children must not be allowed to climb trees or on memorials, and care must be taken to ensure that other visitors are not disturbed.
  • Dogs on leads accompanied by responsible owners who are visiting a grave are permitted in our Cemeteries. The owner must clean up any fouling.
  • No skateboards, skates or scooters (with the exception of mobility scooters) may be ridden in any Cemetery.  Cycling is permitted to visit a grave only, and not for leisure purposes.
  • It is prohibited in any Cemetery grounds to sell goods, services, plants or articles, or promote services in connection with memorials or graves by the distribution of business cards or other promotional literature.
  • Filming or photography in cemeteries will only be permitted upon prior application to the Authorised Officer.
  • A gathering in any Hounslow Cemetery shall be only for the purposes of remembrance or a funeral service.
  • Social drinking, picnics, barbecues, and parties are not permitted.  Sunbathing is not permitted.
  • No musical instrument or other sound-producing device will be allowed in a Cemetery, except when used as part of the funeral service.
  • All enquiries regarding graves from members of the public must be submitted to the Cemeteries Administration Office and not to the ground staff on duty in the cemetery.
  • Please park vehicles considerately. Avoid parking on grave spaces,  grass or obstructing the pathways.  Parking is only permitted for the purpose of visiting the Cemetery.
