Discretionary Local Crisis Payment (DLCP)
This payment varies in its amount but is available in times of crisis to:
- help those with exceptional financial pressures on households
- help when someone may be at serious risk
- help households following a stay in institutional or residential care and
- help households remain in the community instead of entering institutional or residential care
Below are some examples of where we may be able to help with a DLCP payment:
- Household facing exceptional stress i.e. family/marital breakdown,
- Household facing exceptional pressure i.e. partner or child with a disability,
- Households needing help with second hand refurbished white goods; or
- Households with unexpected expenses i.e. food costs will be referred to our local foodbank.
