If I appeal against a PCN will I still be able to pay at the discounted amount?
If we receive your representations whilst the PCN is still at the discounted amount, we will give you a further opportunity to pay at the discount should your representations be refused.
However, if you send us further representations after this, it is unlikely we will reoffer the discount to you again. If we have sent you a formal Notice of Rejection you must either pay it or appeal to the Adjudicator within 28 days, as advised in the Notice.
Appeals to the Adjudicator incur an additional cost to the council and are generally (with very rare exceptions) heard at the full charge. The discount is there to encourage early payment and help ensure that generally speaking it's the stronger cases that are pursued.
