The figures for Hounslow, released today (Monday 17, April), reveal:
-
98% of applicants have been offered a place at one of their six preferred schools.
-
97% have been offered one of their top three schools.
-
85% have been offered their first preference school.
Primary school places in London have been co-ordinated through the Pan-London Admissions scheme since 2011. The scheme aims to ensure the application process for primary school admissions is simple with a fairer distribution of places available across London.
Councillor Lily Bath, Cabinet Member for Children, Learning and Employment at Hounslow Council, said:
“It’s fantastic that over 98 per cent of children starting primary school in September will be attending one of their preferred schools, and a large majority receiving a place at their first choice of school.
“Primary school sets out the foundations for our future generations, and I want to extend a warm welcome to another new year group in our schools, which provide high-quality education., I wish all the children the best of luck as they embark on this new journey.”
Last year, all of Hounslow’s schools were rated ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted. A total of 13 primary Schools, six Secondary Schools and two Special Education Schools received the highest rating of Outstanding from inspectors.
