Residents looking for a great way to keep families entertained during the summer break need to look no further than their local park. With plenty of wonderful parks and open spaces to visit and enjoy, the green network spans Hounslow, and residents can always find something to do close to home, whether it’s looking for a relaxing stroll, a family picnic, or getting more active.
As part of national Love Parks Week (29 July – 5 August), the Council and its partners are encouraging residents to discover and get involved in the exciting events taking place in and around Hounslow.
From Brentford’s Boston Manor Park to Crane Park, there are plenty of nature-themed activities for the whole family, including Animal Handling at Bedfont Lakes, Shelter building at Hounslow Heath and Pond Dipping at Boston Manor Park.
Highlights include:
- Wednesday, 2 August – Survival Skills. Between 2pm and 2:30pm. Meet outside the Information Centre at Hounslow Heath. £6 per child.
- Thursday, 3 August – Toddler Town. Between 10am and 12pm. Meet at the Education Area at Bedfont Lakes. £5 per child.
- Saturday, 5 August – Monthly Bird Walk and Survey. Between 8:30am and 10am. Meet at Boston Gardens Park entrance at the top of the lake in Boston Manor House. Free.
The packed programme of events across the borough will continue beyond Love Parks week and over the coming weeks.
