It’s E-C Peasy to become an Environmental Champion.

The Council is committed to empowering Hounslow’s communities to make a real difference to our borough and beyond.
Help us create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Hounslow by volunteering alongside like-minded champions of the environment.
By joining the Environmental Champions volunteer group, you’ll be working together with other residents to create a greener and healthier Hounslow, and helping us on our journey to net zero. As a key member of the Green community, you will use also your knowledge of local areas to be a leader for driving community change through hands-on climate action.
Alongside our partners Groundwork London, the Council puts on weekly and monthly events for its environmental volunteers. Activities include:
- Tree planting and watering
- Growing fruit and vegetables
- Creating wildflower meadows and homes for wildlife
- Litter picking
- Horticulture training sessions
- Weekly meet-ups and monthly events
And this June, we’re welcoming all residents to come along and get a free taste of what its like to be an environmental volunteer in Hounslow.
On Tuesday, 11 June at 10am, come along to the Community Gardening Workshop at Sutton Playing Fields (TW5 0JG) to learn more about seasonal gardening and how to grow your own vegetables, fruit & herbs!
Places are limited, so please reserve your free place.
On Friday, 21 June at 11.30am sees the Foraging Walk and Workshop session at Hounslow Heath Nature Reserve (TW4 6AE). Join local guide and ‘Urban Herbalist’ Rosin for this 90-minute walk and you will have the chance to learn about various edible and medicinal plants found in local parks.
