People living in a number of Hounslow wards have had changes to their parliamentary constituency boundaries.

This means that the constituency they vote in will change.

These changes result from the Boundary Commission for England's review of all parliamentary constituencies across the UK, aiming to make the number of voters in each constituency more equal. These changes are now coming into effect for the first time, for the 4 July General Election.

These are the changes happening in Hounslow:

  • Chiswick Gunnersbury, Chiswick Homefields and Chiswick Riverside wards will move from Brentford and Isleworth constituency to Hammersmith and Chiswick constituency.

People living in these wards will still be Hounslow residents, they will continue to pay their council tax to Hounslow Council and be added to the electoral register by Hounslow Council.

However, Hammersmith and Fulham Council will manage their voting and they will vote for a new MP, who will represent the new Hammersmith and Chiswick constituency. Anything relating to elections, except registering to vote, will be the responsibility of Hammersmith and Fulham Council.

  • The Whitton ward in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames will form part of Brentford and Isleworth constituency.

People living in this ward will remain Richmond residents, Richmond Council will continue to collect their recycling. Richmond will also add voters to the electoral register.

Whitton ward residents will vote for a new MP, who will represent the new Brentford and Isleworth constituency. Hounslow Council will manage their voting. Anything relating to elections, except registering to vote, will be the responsibility of Hounslow Council.

  • Heston East ward will move from the Feltham and Heston constituency to the Brentford and Isleworth constituency.

People living in this ward will remain Hounslow residents, and Hounslow Council will continue to manage their elections, as usual. They will be represented by an MP for the Brentford and Isleworth constituency.
