In a significant boost to Hounslow's Creative Enterprise Zone, renowned video game company SEGA has announced plans to move to Chiswick.
Published: Thursday, 11th July 2024
The creator of Sonic the Hedgehog will occupy 21,000 sq ft of space in Building 12 at Chiswick Business Park.
The move sees SEGA joining a cluster of creative industry giants such as Warner Bros Discovery, Paramount Pictures, and Dell at Chiswick Park. The Pokémon International Company is also based nearby, making Sonic and Pokémon neighbours.
The office development posted on social media, “Welcome to the Enjoy-Work family Knuckles and Tails! We’re thrilled to have you join Sonic who has already made himself at home and caught a few rings, and we promise we won’t tell Dr Eggman you’re here.”
Cllr Tom Bruce, Deputy Leader of Hounslow Council and Cabinet Member for Assets, Regeneration and Development, welcomed SEGA's move, stating:
“We are delighted to welcome SEGA to Chiswick Park. I have hugely fond memories of playing Sonic the Hedgehog and Brian Lara Cricket on my Sega Megadrive as a child, and their presence, along with other creative industry leaders, reinforces Hounslow's status as a thriving hub for innovation and creativity. This move exemplifies our commitment to attracting and retaining top-tier businesses in our borough.”
Hounslow’s Creative Enterprise Zone remains a major draw for businesses in the sector, due to its connectivity and rich talent pool. The Council continues to support and foster an environment where creative enterprises can thrive.
