Hounslow Council’s Adult and Community Education (HACE) is again recognised as ‘Good’ by the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).
The Ofsted inspection acknowledged HACE’s consistent delivery of ‘good quality education’ to its learners.
Among the aspects of the service cited by Ofsted that HACE delivered well are:
- The effective quality assurance arrangements in place that continually track the quality of provision
- The sensible plan in place to guide improvement actions
- Well sequenced curriculums and the fact learners develop their knowledge and skills incrementally over time
- The range of approaches used to teach learners effectively
- The tracking of learners’ progress and support put in place to help learners if they fall behind
- Positive results for learners with additional learning needs
Learn Hounslow offers a wide range of courses from September to July every year across two learning centres in Meadowbank and Kingsley Academy. Qualification courses help students develop skills for employment, apprenticeships, and career advancement, while short informal courses engage students in arts and crafts, photography, cooking and more, and support their wellbeing.
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills, and Employment at Hounslow Council, said:
"Ofsted has once again recognised the Council for its commitment to providing excellent education and upskilling for residents, empowering them to access good-quality jobs and training opportunities. By providing an enjoyable and inspiring learning environment, they can develop their full potential or simply enjoy personal development that enhances their wellbeing. Our Adult and Community Education plays a major part in building a strong pool of local talent.”
Learn Hounslow’s September courses are now open for residents aged 19 or above to enrol. Initial assessments of some of the courses will take place from Monday, 15 July to Monday, 22 July. Potential students who are interested in studying in September can join the open evening event at Meadowbank Adult and Community Education Centre, TW5 9QX, on Tuesday, 23 July, between 4pm and 7pm.
