This project is a significant step forward, providing crucial public benefits, including the restoration of the historic Grade II listed Hanworth Park House for community use. Additionally, there will be a provision of up to 120 affordable homes. The project will open up currently inaccessible and overgrown woodland for the public, adding new walking and cycling paths.

The approved scheme includes three new residential blocks and two new residential blocks on Council-owned land to the west of the listed building. The development will collectively provide up to 300 residential homes, with 40% designated as affordable housing for Council Rent. The private residential development element will facilitate the restoration of Hanworth Park House. which will remain in private ownership but provide the community hub which will include a museum, education centre, cafe, exhibition space and artisan space.

Comprehensive community engagement has helped shape the current development scheme, establishing local support and gathering input on the desired facilities for the entire project.

Cllr Tom Bruce, Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Assets, Regeneration, and Development, said:

I want to express my gratitude for the collaborative efforts that have brought this project to fruition. This is a significant milestone for Hounslow. Given the housing crisis, our new housing scheme will provide much-needed affordable homes, create jobs, and enhance our local green spaces. I want to thank our council teams for their dedication and hard work in making this project a reality. The restoration of Hanworth Park House will not only preserve an important piece of our heritage but also create a vibrant community hub that will benefit residents for generations to come.
