Hounslow Council is marking Love Parks Week, celebrating the boroughs parks and greenspaces, as well as the teams and volunteers that maintain them.

Hounslow's green spaces will be among the parks across the country taking part in Love Parks Week 2024.
The celebration is taking place from 26 July to 4 August, bringing together local authorities, green space managers, landowners, residents and community organisations to celebrate and support our fantastic green spaces all across the country.
Councillor Salman Shaheen, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Public Spaces, said:
“The pandemic may feel like a distant nightmare to so many of us, but I am reminded, every time I walk through Boston Manor Park, Gunnersbury Park, or Watermans Park where I'd take my daily exercise, how grateful I am for those green spaces. We can never take them for granted. They are a vital resource for the mental and physical health of everyone in our borough.
'Hounslow's love for its parks was evidenced only this month when we won 21 Green Flags - the highest we've ever achieved and the 7th highest in London.
'I hope that during Love Parks Week, residents will pause to remember how important our green spaces are, and let us all thank the teams and volunteers who do so much to maintain them.”
Keep Britain Tidy’s Chief Executive, Allison Ogden-Newton OBE, said:
“Keep Britain Tidy’s Love Parks campaign is an opportunity for everyone to celebrate, appreciate and recognise the value of their park and green space. To talk about what that green space means for them and their communities. Parks improve our health and wellbeing, and we want everyone to hear that message so that during this week of putting the spotlight on our precious parks people who may not think parks are for them, give their local space a visit.”
“The Love Parks campaign would not be possible without the backing of our local authority partners, including Hounslow’s park professionals and landowners.”
