Hounslow Council welcomes the return of All Ability Cycle Sessions at Inwood Park.
Published: Monday, 28th October 2024
Hounslow Council is relaunching the popular all-ability cycling sessions at Inwood Park on Wednesday, 30 October, from 10am to 2pm.
The relaunch will celebrate improvement works that have taken place at the park to make it easier for residents to use it as a cycling venue.
With the work now complete, the opening event will see activities such as Dr Bike surgeries offering free small bike repairs, a smoothie bike, and engaging cycling sessions, all free for the residents.
The all-ability cycling sessions are designed to be fully inclusive and are open to residents with disabilities.
These sessions will take place every Saturday morning and are completely free, with all equipment provided to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to get involved, regardless of their cycling experience or physical ability.
This initiative is part of Hounslow Council’s aim to promote active lifestyles, good health and wellbeing for all members of the community.
Cllr Katherine Dunne, Hounslow Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment, and Transport Strategy encourages residents to attend the launch.
She said: “The improvements at Inwood Park are a great example of the wider work we are doing to encourage more people to take up cycling for leisure, health and as a great way of getting around the borough.
“Cycling is a fantastic way to stay active, enjoy the outdoors, and improve your overall well-being. Our all-ability cycling sessions are a wonderful opportunity for everyone, regardless of experience or ability, to come together and enjoy cycling in a supportive and inclusive environment. We would love residents to join us for the relaunch and experience the joy of cycling, with the added fun of activities like our smoothie bike and Dr Bike surgeries. We look forward to seeing you there.”
Hounslow Council’s Parks team has been working with Lampton Services Greenspace on the improvements since September and they include improvements to paths, paving and railings.
Simon Shewry, Director of Commercial and Transformational Services at Lampton Services, said, “We are proud to have supported Hounslow Council in delivering a series of improvements and upgrades at Inwood Park. These changes will make a significant difference to all residents who use the park as a cycling venue, improving accessibility and creating an inclusive community space that can be used to support wellness for many years to come.”
The all-ability sessions are a great way to embrace a healthy lifestyle while connecting with the community. Come down to Inwood Park on Wednesday, 30 October, for a day of fun, and don’t miss out on the chance to be part of this fantastic initiative.
