The Leader of Hounslow Council has today written to the Chief Executive of Post Office Limited to express his deep concern about the closure of the main Post Office in Hounslow Town Centre.
Councillor Shantanu Rajawat said,
“Hounslow’s main Post Office was a very busy branch, and a lifeline for many in our communities, particularly our most vulnerable residents, in a town centre with very high footfall and a local population where many are economically disadvantaged.
“The removal of Main Post Office services will cause hardship for those with financial or mobility issues who cannot afford or are not able to travel a long distance to other Main Post Office locations.
“Both residents and I need to understand the Post Office’s plans for the resumption of this vital service, and I hope we can work with the Post Office to ensure a Main Post service resumes in Hounslow Town Centre.”
