Commonwealth Day is an important opportunity to celebrate a shared history, and His Majesty the King will mark it by issuing a message to all Commonwealth citizens.
The traditional flying of the flag remains an important element of the day with the flags of all 56 member states flown in Parliament Square, and from the buildings of 10 Downing Street, the Houses of Parliament and other government departments across Westminster.
Council Leader, Councillor Shantanu Rajawat said,
“Here in Hounslow, we recognise and celebrate the vital, international contribution that people from all over the world make to our country, our economy, our Borough and our communities, and the Commonwealth remains a highly visible and important part of that.
“We are proud to play our part in marking Commonwealth Day, and to acknowledge the role played by Commonwealth citizens across our One Hounslow”
