The London Fire Brigade (LFB) responded to a fire at an electrical substation on Nestles Avenue in Hayes, Thursday, 20 March into Friday 21 March. The fire is now under control and there are no reports of any injuries.

Due to a significant amount of smoke,150 people were evacuated from their homes, although none of these homes were in Hounslow. Hillingdon Council is supporting those who need help.

There were power outages overnight, 20 March, with some power loss persisting into the day, 21 March. However, we understand that power has since been returned to all affected. Although anyone with ongoing problems can call 105, for help with this.

People traveling locally, within the affected area, can check TfL’s website before they set off and Heathrow Airport is keeping its website updated.
