We can provide a resident with a larger 240L bin or a second 140L bin where appropriate if the property meets the criteria laid out in the larger bin policy.
All requests for a larger bin will be subject to an assessment by the Council. This assessment may include carrying out a bin audit at the property to ensure residents are recycling as much as possible. Where appropriate additional recycling bins may be provided to increase recycling and divert waste from the rubbish bin.
Information may be required to support your application which must be provided within 28 calendar days of the request. Failure to supply the information will result in the application being cancelled and closed.
We will undertake regularly reviews of households with a 240L or additional 140L bin to establish the ongoing need. If it is deemed that the additional capacity is no longer required, we will remove the larger or additional bin and replace this with 1 X 140L bin. It is the resident’s responsibility to advise the Council of any changes in circumstances.
